Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every order placed with Walter Flat Caps at walterflatcaps.com. Please read them before you order. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Who you are contracting with

2. How the contract is formed
Putting a cap in your basket is not an order. Your order is an offer to buy. We confirm receipt of it by email; that confirmation is an acknowledgement, not an acceptance. The contract comes into existence when we send you the email telling you that your order has been dispatched. If we cannot accept your order — for example because the cap is out of stock or because a price was wrong — we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
3. Products
Photographs and descriptions are as accurate as we can make them. Cloth, colour and weave can vary slightly between batches, and the colour you see depends on your screen. Sizes are given as head circumference in centimetres; the size guide explains how to measure. Minor variations do not make a cap faulty.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any applicable sales tax. Delivery within the United Kingdom is free; any charge that applies to an address outside the United Kingdom is shown at checkout before you pay. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted. Payment is taken at checkout through our payment providers. If a price is obviously wrong and the mistake could reasonably have been recognised, we are not obliged to supply at that price.
5. Delivery
We send orders within the United Kingdom by Royal Mail, with tracking, normally within three to five working days of dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to you or to someone you have named. Full details are on our delivery page.
6. Cancelling and returning
As a consumer you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and we give you 30 days on top of that as a shop policy. Both are set out on our returns and refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
7. Faulty or wrong goods
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the caps we sell must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If they are not, you have a short-term right to reject them within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, and after that the right to a repair or replacement and, if that fails, a price reduction or a refund. Write to us and we will arrange it; we pay the return postage for faulty or wrongly sent goods.
8. Our liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your statutory rights as a consumer. We are not liable for business losses; if you buy for a purpose connected with your trade, business, craft or profession, the consumer protections in these terms do not apply to you.
9. Events outside our control
If something outside our reasonable control delays or prevents performance, we will tell you and the time for performance is extended. If the delay is substantial you may cancel the affected order and we will refund it.
10. Complaints
Write to support@walterflatcaps.com with your order number and we will answer by email. If we cannot resolve the matter between us, you can take it to the courts named below.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought before the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live. Nothing here takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
12. General
If a court finds any part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues to apply. If we do not insist on something straight away, we can still insist on it later. We may update these terms; the version published on this page when you order is the version that applies to your order.
